About Us

Leela’s lunches is in the business of shaping the palates of the future generation, towards real and whole foods. We do this smartly, and gradually, by adding vegetables to sauces, eliminating additives, preservatives, sugar and refined products, introducing higher proportions of wholegrains and slowly crowding out junk. We accomplish this using fun educational activities where children learn what real food is, where it comes from, how to read labels, the importance of freshly cooked meals to build their growing minds and bodies.

Meet the team

Kanika C. Hughes

Studied French cuisine and patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu in London, and Ayurvedic and Yogic cooking in Mumbai. She has also recently completed her certification through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition as a Health Coach. This somewhat unorthodox combination describes her approach to cooking: she believes that food has got to look good, taste good and do good. Kanika’s little daughter Leela is the inspiration behind our venture. All our recipes are dishes Leela and her friends love.

Lavi Chandra

After 10 years in investment banking at RBS, Barclays and KPMG across the US, UK, India & Middle East, Lavi was keen to switch to an entrepreneurial role. She is responsible for the overall business strategy and business development as well as all finance and legal functions at Leela’s lunches. She also heads up our social media and marketing efforts, and is our in-house star food photographer. All our food photos are taken by Lavi. She is extremely passionate about children and their education.

Sheena Ganatra

Is a professional accountant with a 9 year career in the financial services industry. She currently works for a major bank as a learning and development manager. Her therapy after hours is actively experimenting with different cooking styles and cuisines. Sheena is passionate about nutrition and wellness, and is a consummate foodie. She loves cooking for her friends and family, everyone who knows her calls her ‘The Feeder’.
